How To Clean Composite Decking

Have you ever asked yourself, “Do I need to clean my RENEW deck like I did my old wood deck?”

Lasts A Lifetime With Low Maintenance

One of the major advantages of owning a RENEW deck is the minimal upkeep. RENEW Decking has been designed and engineered to last for decades with very little maintenance; however, that doesn’t mean you can leave it unattended.

It’s true, our decking will free you from the yearly sealing coat that you had to apply to your wood deck. Yet, many benefits can be gained by a simple cleaning once every six months.

Easy To Clean

RENEW’s closed-cell structure makes it easy to remove dirt and grime. Most residential applications clean easily with a light scrubbing of water and a biodegradable detergent. The best example would be a standard dishwashing detergent.

Cleaning sponge with a bucket of soap and water

A mixture of water and detergent can be brushed onto your deck with a standard broom or sponge. A light rinse should clean off normal grime from your deck surface.

Person cleaning a deck with a power washer

For commercial applications or more stubborn stains, like graffiti or tree sap, a standard power washer can be used for cleaning. RENEW Decking is one of the few decking materials that can withstand a power washer without causing damage

Dirt buildup under normal food traffic may grind on your surfaces. So, remember, less dirt and grime buildup on your deck surface will make your porch or deck last longer overtime.

Mold & Mildew Resistant

RENEW Decking boards block out moisture. This means that mold and mildew cannot be absorbed into RENEW Decking. If mold and mildew appear on the surface of your decking, simply wipe it clean with soap and water or a mild household cleaner.

Keep your deck looking as good as the day you installed it with some simple spring cleaning this season.
